Hello classmates! This Friday I am going to talk about one of my favorite object of study, the prison. I consider that the study of this social institution is very important in our society because one big part of the Chilean and world population live in this place. The prison is an institution interesting for me because is a space that represents the worse face of the capitalist society. In prison the Human Rights  not exist and the violation of basic rights are a thing common. During the last year, I could visit the female prison of Santiago (CPF San Joaquin) and the life conditions were really horrible; overcrowding, absence of hygiene, abusive works, among others. This experience was very important because now I know the problems from the reality and not only literature. I decided to write about this topic in this post because the presidential election is very near and is important investigate about the political project in this topic  of the different candidates, because is very different think that the prison is the solution to delinquency that the poverty is the cause of delinquency.
